For Me – Rating (3 out of 5). – Songs Kept (0 for 12)
Your Type of Music – Rating (4 out of 5)
This is my first music review. I will include my rating, but also the number of songs I kept on my iPhone for playing in the future.
Neko Case – Hell-On is was an interesting album. There were a lot of songs where there was a verse or sections of the music that I found noteworthy. But overall the song wasn’t enough to capture my interest, and definitely note songs I wanted to listen to repeatedly.
My thought as I was listening, if you like this type of music, then this is a great album. On Apple it described the the album as “languid”. I actually had to look the word up, and it does describe the album well. “(of a person, manner, or gesture) displaying or having a disinclination for physical exertion or effort; slow and relaxed.”
And maybe that definition is why I didn’t keep any songs, the pace was just too slow. There were songs I thought about keeping and when I was about to “Love” the song, I couldn’t picture me keeping it another couple of plays, so I “Disliked” all the songs in the end.
Still the creativity I thought was high and if you liked a slower paced set of songs, this is the album for you. That is why I gave this this album 3 stars.
