Rating (3 out of 5)
Searching for shows on Netflix, and thought I would give this a try. I watch my 3 episodes and part of the fourth and gave up. I then looked at the summaries of the remain episodes (season 1 and season 2), and decided to just watch the last episode from Season 2. That should be an indicator of quality.
Long story short, not a bad story and premise. 6 people literally dig themselves out of their graves. All from different times, 2 years ago, 1980’s, 1960’s, etc. The policeman on duty grabs them and takes them to the doctors office where they try to protect them and keep them away from everyone. The stories are then a little about the people and their back story, and trying to stay alive in this new world.
They find out that they are limited to the town of Yoorna, or their eyes begin to bleed and then the turn to dust. Slowly the area decreases in size and they have to take action.
The show was is a little slow and plodding, which is why I only gave it a 3. To improve the speed, I think they could have isolated more in a character per episode and really shown more about their back story, and show how it drove them in the current life.
I didn’t particularly like the first character they concentrated on Maria. I was kind of glad when she died.
I enjoyed the back story of the 1980’s girl, Kirstie. She was murdered, and then talks to her ex-boyfriend who was convicted of murdering her. She realizes it wasn’t him. I thought the scene where she talks to him was really good. Wish they had started with that in episode 2, and I would have been hooked a bit more.
Like I said, I don’t really have anything bad to say about the show, except it felt slow to develop and show features about the characters, which in the end made me just jump to the end rather than plod through the 2 seasons.
